The Round Table exemplifies peak modernist design thinking. This three legged table consists of a solid wood round top supported by three legs connected by triangulating crossbars. The juxtaposition of the circle and triangle is both structural and expressive in true modernist fashion. The use of cylindrical legs instead of tapering legs makes this a unique object in the Chandigarh vocabulary. Originally used in residential as well as institutional buildings, including P.G.I. Hospital.
